    It's a bit of a poor example as well, because there was a long time when people were importing Australian baby formula into China because they didn't trust the food safety standards there.

    We also inverted the food pyramid recently since the whole thing reeked of big sugar/grain lobby, it can take a while for research to percolate above propoganda, and I'm not above suspecting the new pyramid of having its bias'

    New pyramid leans very heavily on meat and dairy which goes contrary to most long term dietary studies. Those are industries that lobby heavily.

    Yeah the new one is trash. Meant and dairy are correlated with bad health outcomes. The Danish food piramid is legit. More legumes, whole veggies etc

    There's so much fad diet marketing and propaganda out there, but the Mediterranean diet is one of the few that's actually backed by a decent amount of real scientific research as being healthy for most people.
