    EAs like Nick Bostrom argue that we have a greater moral obligation to hypothetical trillions of future persons--including an obligation to see to it that they come into existence--than to people who actually exist. Personally, I think that's insane sociopathy.

      Thinking that far into the future, such that it affects actions one takes in the present is a true detachment from reality.

      If that's a motivating factor for how they live their life, then they need hospitalization for their own good.
