I remember watching "Triumph of the Nerds" as a appx. 10 year old (it aired some years later in Norway). Two quotes stuck with me from that. The first is Ballmer mocking IBMers for bragging about how many KLOCs they had written every day. He's point being that the code is not the product. The other was Ellison complaining about the software distribution models at the time. "Don't put software on plastic discs, plastic discs in cardboard box, cardboard box in a warehouse and later in a store. Instead put the software on the net." I remember calculating how long it would be to download the full Windows 95 disc on my 28.8 modem, and thinking that it would be long time until that was feasible.
