We give attention to things that deserve our attention, i.e., things that affect us. The war in Ethiopia scores very low on that list, to the point of almost complete irrelevance.
Is that really true? Can't we feel compassion and mourn things happening far away? I don't think this is true.I think the problem is that modern brain is overloaded with information. We can't care about everything fully, or we'd go insane.
