They drink less, which has been documented extensively. The fact they are asking about intensity is a sign of this, not evidence to the contrary. This is a good thing, imo.
There was a massive and permanent rise in mass-market beer prices (and margins) after the "microbrew" era, and a huge drop in the costs (in risks to your safety and freedom) in smoking pot.
I think that the inflation wave has caused cheap beer to bring its prices back to earth Dollar Menu-style. For a long while there was simply no cheap beer.
why this is a good thing?
alcohol it's not the only thing people throwning their lifes. As for myself, Gen Z member, I'm never drinked at all, but this doesn't mean my life or even health is better.

That was true a couple years ago, but now they are picking up. Maybe they were just broke.
