There has been so much anecdotal evidence about US/Russia collusion in both US domestic and international behavior that I'm pretty much convinced Putin has some control over Trump. I don't know if it is blackmail, bribery, shared ideology or just the fact that Trump is a very useful idiot.

I know this isn't a quantitative analysis, but if it walks like a duck....

Some examples would be much appreciated.

This article is an anecdotal example. Why are the US/Russia interests aligned in Brazil to get Bolsonaro elected? Why would both countries want an authoritarian elected? The US and Russia for many decades had opposed views of authoritarian regimes around the world and only during the Trump administrations have we seen the US take such a strongly favorable view of them.

The Bolsonaros are US puppets, of course. Kinda weird to see Russia on that list though... I'm gonna try to figure out why.

The way I see it is that if more countries become autocratic, then Russian autocracy becomes normalized and they will become less of a pariah in the global world order. The more they can normalize themselves, the more the Russians can evade restrictions and sanctions. This is their end goal.

And just to add, the US end goal after WWII was to normalize democracy across the globe. Hoping that as more countries became democratic, more countries and populations would demand the same. We saw this a bit in the 90's after the fall of the Soviet Union.
