Huh? Is this comment referring to something specific or is it just a general swipe at a religion that's unliked around here?

Government in Utah is essentially a Mormon theocracy. People voted for medical cannabis and the church lobbied and got the will of the people overturned. They have strange alcohol laws because their religion forbids alcohol. They're hostile to queer rights because their religion dictates such beliefs.

Utah doesn&#x27;t appear to be hostile to queer rights: <a href="https:&#x2F;&#x2F;en.wikipedia.org&#x2F;wiki&#x2F;LGBTQ_rights_in_Utah" rel="nofollow">https:&#x2F;&#x2F;en.wikipedia.org&#x2F;wiki&#x2F;LGBTQ_rights_in_Utah

They ban municipalities from displaying pride flags and there are a lot of exemptions from legal protections, but I&#x27;ll admit some of my data is obsolete and I was unaware of the protections added in 2014.
