Founding ML engineer on a consumer platform with 5M+ monthly users — built
recommender system from the ground up. Rebuilt homepage ranking for +36% median
session time, then personalization for +10% in targeted cohorts, both A/B
tested. Owned the whole slice — models, the Airflow and ClickHouse pipelines
under them, and the service that served it. Before that, self-driving at Yandex.
What I'm after is a team where I own an area and help set its technical
direction — working out how we move the metric and discussing it through with the
product side, rather than working from a backlog someone else has already
scoped. The last two years were close to that, and it's the part of the job I
actually like. Available now.
