Writing is a technology that served us well for over 5000 years, but now times are a changing. Written media will cease to provide any value in the next decade i think. In person chats/Public speaking will be revered again.

Edit - people are assuming that i want this to happen. no, i don't. i am reading more than i ever did before, maybe out of rebellion. i am just stating what I THINK is to come. it might not go this way at all.

Speaking is a culture that has served us well for 300 000 years or so. To note, it has been used for both good and bad..

        right.

but i am making the case of in-person chat or public speaking, where in-person and public are the relevant parts.

        Speaking did not create civilization.

That's an interesting point and I wonder how far it has been proven. I guess it is validated by the present. Scandinavian cultures had laws and communities with courts all without writing, they had a storytelling and law-reciting culture instead.
