Vermont replacing power plants with home batteries

    What is average length of outage? If it is a few hours then the battery seems like a good idea. If it is days then the battery will probably run out.

    I'm assuming most of these outages are from snow storms. Do these people have to go up on the roof and clear the solar panels?

      You also need to take into account the fact that VPP systems like this stabilize the grid by flattening the peaks and troughs, and reduce the average length of outages.
