My biggest frustration with the frontier AI companies isn't what they're announcing, but that the announced-thing that exists ~6 months later is severely nerfed to reduce compute spend. It doesn't resemble the demo in any way. What exists today pales in comparison.
I think Dots just a precursor to their consumer hardware they've been working on with Ive. They could build a small on device model to handle the speech to text and text to speech. Then tie it in to their Dots ecosystem.
