Burning Man death rates – A short lesson in statistics

    The biggest factor is selection bias. If you are in the hospital with some terrible medical condition you aren’t going to Burning Man.

    It would be interesting to look at cause of death at Burning Man, I would expect it to differ significantly from the population overall (even accounting for age).

      put any large group of people in a spot, and statistically you will have deaths.

      I was at a 35k~ officially (though it was realistically 50k) people. And there was three deaths. 1 public suicide, 1 heart attack, and one that the details never got published.
