I can tell this is fake from the fact the explorer context menu and the start menu open in under 2 seconds (on a top end Ryzen CPU, nonetheless).

Yeah the volume slider wasn't disabled for 2 seconds after opening the dialog, Microsoft should take notes!

Honestly the entire UI was so responsive and fast.

We've come a long way when web apps feel faster and more native than native apps.

Well, it does say "Unofficial parody" on the initial, loading, screen

I was forced to use Windows in my last job and fpilot kept me sane in that regard (<a href="https:&#x2F;&#x2F;filepilot.tech" rel="nofollow">https:&#x2F;&#x2F;filepilot.tech)

Oh really? The program that&#x27;s been around for about a year and costs $80?

$200&#x2F;$400, actually. The $40&#x2F;$80 licence tier only comes with a year of updates, which should be a complete non-starter in today&#x27;s security landscape.

Maybe I&#x27;m missing something, because despite the start menu being an absolute mess, I&#x27;ve not experienced it being slow

You&#x27;re holding it wrong. I have a keyboard shortcut to open Notepad. It needs 2 seconds on a 20 core Intel Cpu.
