What exactly are south Asians? Serious question
        1. tock · · focus · HN ↗
          Generally Indians.

They are unfortunately the most common example of (subjectively) bad immigration policies seen first-hand among tech folks in the West (I.e. people likely to be on HN). The parent was obviously referring to this fact sarcastically. It's a tech trope.

You make it sound like something nefarious and criminal.

      > Tech became the greatest trojan horse for south asian immigration.

Weird take, are you against upward mobility? Would you not take the same opportunity in their position?

Not the parent, but yes, of course I would. But letting anybody do anything that would benefit them is of course not reasonable.

Who is talking about letting anybody do anything? The parent is talking about people working in tech as a means of upwards mobility. Is that not reasonable?
