"No don't worry about that, you already did 2 free throws today. You got the core idea."
"But my dad says he would spend hours every day just shooting hoops by himself."
"That's the old way. Ineffective. More important to learn what makes a good free throw than to mindlessly just repeat it. Then you can apply it to all kinds of situations."
