An app named Hamilton. "I named the app after my dog..." Who is your dog named after? Is this a dog whistle?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamilton_(musical) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog_whistle_(politics)

I wanted a dog my whole adult life, and my wife and daughter finally relented when I turned 50, on the condition that they chose the name and the breed. So I got a dog called Hamilton, and a lifetime of people asking if he's named after the musical. Or Lewis Hamilton.

The only dog whistle he responds to are crisp packets rustling.

It's important to remember that not everything is about politics, and people with somewhat mainstream politics don't really need to secretly signal each other, they're mostly shouting about it. Take a breath, everything's going to be alright in the long run.

      I wish you the best.

Ngl, at least for me, an AI-generated logo is immediately off-putting, even if the app itself is actually great. Just taking a similar icon from something like The Noun Project would probably be better if you can't make one yourself or ask someone for it. (I understand the logo is of your dog! It's the specific ugly AI-generated style I'm talking about, not the contents)

I'm also not really sure on how this app is better than the other similarly vibecoded Health Connect dashboards which are open source and cost nothing:

    https://f-droid.org/en/packages/dev.easonhuang.heartwood/ https://f-droid.org/en/packages/tech.mmarca.openvitals/ https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.monkopedia.healthdisconn...

Just the ones that come up when searching "health connect" on F-Droid, I'm sure there are more.

I hope this comment doesn't sound rude, sorry if it does

Not rude at all. Fair on both counts.

I could use a photo of Hamilton, but depending on grooming stage he veers between looking like a freshly clipped sheep or a scruffy mess. I'd have to grab him at exactly the right time. Plus I don't think I could get him to wear the headband.

If the free ones do what you need, then they would be great choices. I guess my target market is people who don't even know F-Droid exists, or would rather stick to the Play Store.

Plus none of those apps are dog-related.

Nice idea. Having health data from different apps in one place without sending anything to a server is a strong selling point. Also, naming it after the dog was clearly the right decision :)

    > Below is an FAQ,

I took the liberty of moving it to a comment below, to make the toptext a bit less daunting. I hope that's ok!

"...if you have a bunch of apps and fitness monitors from different manufacturers, very few of them all talk to each other." I can safely say (or maybe confess) that this is exactly my situation and one that I'd love to see resolved. I currently use Oura, Whoop, and Fitbit devices simultaneously (testing out which I like best), and I think Google Health claims that it's integrating data between devices, but it's kinda inscrutable how much it actually is. Something that really verified data convergence between apps would be great, as well as a way to tell which data (in the converged app) was coming from which source, so you could identify which devices/apps you really needed to keep. I might just be an outlier, though... Which devices/apps are currently supported?
