      I just can’t find the user experience different enough for me to feel like my western friends have any point to make about China

      the west has a thin partyless corporate layer controlling all facets of life and your ability to participate in life compared to the government doing it directly

      but its okay because if you don’t care about any of that you can talk about it (in person only because nobody will hear it for long elsewhere) and you won’t be disappeared? *unless your citizenship status is questioned
