They went AI too hard too soon. It only truly started being usable for dev this year.

Micro$oft should stick to worrying about Windoze

Ah, I see you’re a person of culture as well.

Not really relevant though. They sure should be serious about GitHub, npm, and plenty of other things they run, too.

Maybe having 81 different things called Copilot does not help if you want to get taken seriously

Can't speak to that one, but Studio Copilot.net Ultimate Home Professional Visual Edition 365# Server 95 was one of the best pieces of software I've ever used.

      Microsoft:

      Well, there's egg and bacon

      Egg sausage and bacon

      Egg and slop

      Egg, bacon and slop

      Egg, bacon, sausage and slop

      Slop, bacon, sausage and slop

Slop, egg, slop, slop, bacon and slop

Slop, sausage, slop, slop, slop, bacon, slop tomato and slop

Slop, slop, slop, egg and slop

Slop, slop, slop, slop, slop, slop, baked beans, slop, slop, slop and slop

(Vikings: Slop! Slop! Slop! Slop! Lovely slop! Lovely slop!)

Or Lobster Thermidor aux crevettes with a Mornay sauce served in a Provençale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with truffle pâté, brandy and a fried egg on top and slop

Like most things Microsoft, "gave up after six months" is accurate.

Microsoft should now release a brand new UI framework, this time designed and implemented end-to-end by AI:

    Microsoft Visualization Copilot

If there's anyone from Microsoft here, let your bosses know I'll accept a Chief Prompting Officer role to help get it (and much more) out of the door.

      Their UI/UX is bad enough.

Maybe if they didn't have a toddler CEO that wasn't completely asleep at the wheel they would have prevented losing in the court of public opinion.

They're being surprisingly intentional about trashing consumer trust. They recently patented a method to inject ads during downtime in video games[1]. Plus they changed Xbox GamePass so you can only play 5-15 hours a month on it, depending on your plan.

Why is installing Linux suddenly becoming mainstream? I don't think any of the managers at Microslop know.

Their execution is improving, but their models aren't as good as Anthropic or Open Ai
