    How do we know if this is normal or not? You really need a historical time series to know if it has always been like this or not

      Historically the ad was in a newspaper and you would sit and circle them with your breakfast while listening to the wireless.

      Companies didnt pay to put the ad in the paper every day once the vacancy was filled.

        Hey, historically your "employer" would flog you if you tried to change "jobs".
