   I do this often. Every time I hear about a city or place in a video, book, or any other media, I immediately pause it and google map the location and if they have a street view I “walk” the streets. Probably a waste of time, but it helps me contextualize the place and people living there.

      Sometimes I use a VR headset with Google Earth to get a good feel for the area I will visit. Can cover a lot of ground flying around the city this way. When I get there in person I’m basically a local.
