Is this related to Asahi Linux in any way? Or is it a completely separate project for some reason?

Seems to be 100% entirely different, as Asahi uses Arch, this is on Fedora.

Asahi is on Fedora now (and has been for a couple of years)

This is intended to eventually be distribution agnostic; Asahi uses Fedora and this is following in those footsteps to be a fairly similar experience.
Asahi is available in a variety of distros, too.

    > as Asahi uses Arch,
    Asahi does not use Arch.
It formally made Fedora its official partner three years ago as I reported at the time:
    <a href="https://www.theregister.com/software/2023/08/07/asahi-linux-project-hooks-up-with-fedora-remix-coming-soon/1248952" rel="nofollow">https://www.theregister.com/software/2023/08/07/asahi-linux-...
It does also support 10 other distros, listed here:

    (Deepin is there twice.)
Note, Arch is not on that list.
