AI-generated posters don’t have to be horrible

It’s not complicated - the default style signals low effort. Why should I get excited about the village fete if the organizers put in the barest minimum of effort?

But there’s another reason it drives people crazy - it’s low effort trying to present as high effort. If the sign was simple Comic Sans then it would at least be charmingly honest.

Making a good poster is bikeshedding. Organizing an event is hard and making better posters than this is a waste of their limited resources.

"Organizing an event is hard..." Not with AI. You could use AI to organize it and make some AI posters. Ask AI to design everything. Make it digital and have only AI's come.

Bikeshedding at an event is something like arguing about where to put the snack table. Raising awareness in the community about the event is vital, because this is what decides who will come. If you spend your time solving other problems and then few people come because they were put off by posters that to them signal "This is something we don't really care about", then it did matter after all.

You've missed the point so I'll try to spell it out.

Bike sheds are important. Their color is not.

Event promotion is important. The color of the poster is not.
