            You are comparing the US today with China 1950. That's already pretty telling. It's not a 1:1 comparison but close in some aspects.

               That's my point. China was so far behind and caught up. Even if we accept the premise that the US is behind today (debatable) "it's over they won" is an inaccurate statement.
